1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account, accessing app.reportgen.org, or using ReportGen on behalf of a firm or company, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you use ReportGen for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
If a signed order form, MSA, or SOW conflicts with these terms, the signed document controls for that engagement.
2. The ReportGen product
ReportGen is software for turning financial and valuation work already done in spreadsheets into presentation-ready Word and PDF reports. Typical use includes selecting a template, uploading Excel or CSV data, mapping variables, reviewing a preview, and exporting a deliverable.
Features may change as we improve the product. We do not guarantee that every template, mapping, or export will match a particular firm's internal policy unless that is scoped as a paid implementation.
3. Accounts and workspaces
You are responsible for the people you invite, the permissions you grant, and activity that occurs under your workspace. Keep credentials confidential and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been misused.
- Use accurate registration information.
- Do not share login credentials outside your organization except as your workspace settings allow.
- You are responsible for content your users upload and reports they generate.
4. Customer data and files
You retain ownership of the spreadsheets, templates, mappings, commentary, and reports you put into ReportGen ("Customer Data"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that data solely to provide the product and related support.
You represent that you have the right to upload Customer Data, including any confidential financial information, client names, or personal data contained in those files.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use ReportGen to:
- Violate law, professional standards you are bound by, or another party’s rights.
- Attempt to access other customers’ workspaces or reverse engineer the platform.
- Upload malware, or overload the service in a way that degrades it for others.
- Misrepresent generated reports as independent audit, legal, or investment advice from ReportGen.
6. Intellectual property
ReportGen, the platform, default templates we provide, documentation, and branding remain our intellectual property. Your uploaded templates and generated reports remain yours, subject to any third-party rights in the underlying data.
7. AI-assisted features
Some features may suggest mappings, insights, or wording. Those outputs are assistive. You remain responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving every report before it is delivered to a client, investor, or internal stakeholder. ReportGen is not a substitute for professional judgment.
8. Advisory and technical services
Separate from the software, we may offer financial and advisory reporting support or technical implementation. Those engagements are described on the Services page and may have their own statements of work, fees, and deliverables. Software terms still apply to any workspace access granted during those projects.
9. Fees and trials
Paid plans, trials, and usage limits are shown at checkout or in an order form. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable once a billing period begins. We may suspend access for unpaid invoices after notice.
10. Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other’s confidential information with reasonable care and use it only to perform under these terms. Customer Data is your confidential information. Product documentation we mark as confidential is ours.
11. Disclaimers
ReportGen is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not warrant that generated reports are error-free, complete, or suitable for a specific regulatory filing, valuation conclusion, or client commitment. You must validate outputs against source workpapers.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, ReportGen is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect damages. Our aggregate liability for a claim relating to the product is limited to the fees you paid us for the product in the twelve months before the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using ReportGen at any time. We may suspend or close a workspace for material breach, unpaid fees, or risk to the service. After termination we will delete or return Customer Data according to the Privacy Policy and any written offboarding terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to ReportGen’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless a signed agreement specifies another jurisdiction.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
16. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the Contact page. Choose ReportGen Software for product terms, or the relevant services topic for advisory or implementation agreements.
