Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ReportGen collects, uses, and protects information when you visit the marketing site or use the product.

Last updated September 3, 2026

1. Overview

ReportGen provides software that helps professionals turn spreadsheet analysis into Word and PDF reports. We also operate this marketing website and may provide advisory or technical services. This policy covers personal information and the files you place in the product.

If we process Customer Data on behalf of your firm, we do so as a service provider / processor under your instructions, and you remain the controller of that data.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three main ways:

  • Account and contact details you give us, such as name, work email, firm, and messages sent through the Contact form.
  • Workspace content you upload or create, including Excel or CSV files, templates, variable mappings, comments, and generated reports.
  • Usage and device data, such as logins, feature use, approximate location from IP address, and browser type, to keep the service reliable and secure.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide workspaces, mapping, preview, export, and collaboration features.
  • Respond to product, advisory, or implementation inquiries.
  • Secure the platform, prevent abuse, and diagnose faults.
  • Improve templates, workflows, and AI-assisted suggestions, using aggregated or de-identified signals where practical.
  • Send service notices. Marketing email is sent only where permitted, and you can opt out.

4. Spreadsheets, templates, and reports

Financial models and reports can contain sensitive commercial and personal information. We host that content to generate and store deliverables in your workspace. We do not sell Customer Data. We do not use your client files to train public models for other customers.

You decide who in the workspace can view, edit, or export files. Remove or request deletion of workspace data when an engagement ends, subject to backup cycles described below.

5. When we share information

We share information only as needed to run ReportGen:

  • Infrastructure, email, and support vendors who process data on our instructions.
  • Your organization’s admins and teammates according to workspace permissions.
  • Professional advisors or authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
  • A successor, if ReportGen is involved in a merger or asset transfer, under continued protection.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

The marketing site and application use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand which pages are useful. Essential cookies are required for security and basic operation. Analytics cookies, if used, help us improve the product.

You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login or form submission. Contact-form cooldown state may be stored in a session cookie on this site so a reload does not reset a short wait after you send a message.

7. Retention

We keep account and billing records for as long as the workspace is active and for a reasonable period afterward for disputes, audits, and legal obligations. Customer files stay until you delete them or the workspace is closed, then may remain in encrypted backups for a limited rotation window.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to a hosted reporting product, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Notify us quickly if you suspect unauthorized access to your workspace.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. Workspace admins can often handle file-level requests directly. For personal data we hold as controller, such as a Contact form submission, use the Contact page and describe the request.

10. International processing

ReportGen may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our vendors operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

11. Children

ReportGen is built for professional use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we treat personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.

13. Contact

Privacy questions and data requests can be sent through our Contact page. Select ReportGen Software unless your question is specifically about advisory or implementation services.
